Some New Derivatives of Harmaline Series of Bases

Naturforsch. 41b, 1583-1586 (1986); received March 20, 1985/July 20, 1986 Harmaline, Aminoharmaline, Harmalol, N-Benzenesulfonyltetrahydroharmine In the course of pharmaco-chemical studies in the structure and activity relationship in har­ maline series of/3 -carboline bases, a num ber of new derivatives of harmaline have been obtained and characterized through chemical and spectral studies. Pharmacological screening carried out on one of these (9 ) shows that it has mild physiological activity without any toxicity.
